Why Greene County Insurance?
Our History
Our agency’s founder was a very special and well-respected man, Tony Yates. Tony was a unique combination of wisdom, spunk, and honesty – and it is those qualities we still strive to emulate today. We were all deeply saddened when Tony passed away unexpectedly several years ago. With his passing, a second-generation Tony emerged – his daughter-in-law, Tina Yates. Tina reflects, “I am blessed to have learned the business from Tony Yates and can carry on his work and build on his legacy. He empowered me and gave me the tools to be the best I can be and, in turn, help every member of our great staff to do the same.”
Greene County Insurance is locally owned. Our agents are located right here and available to meet with you in person. We are your neighbors, and we love and support our local community. Check out our GCI News section for more information.

Greene County Insurance is an Independent Agent. That means we work for you – not for insurance companies. That’s important because it allows use to develop custom insurance packages based on what’s best for you.
Meet Our Team
Tina (Smith) Yates
Agency Principal Tina (Smith) Yates began her career with Greene County Insurance in 2006 and is licensed in Property & Casualty Lines as well as Life, Health and Variable Annuities. With over 35 years of experience in business to business sales and marketing, she started as Lead Sales Agent and quickly advanced to Sales Manager. Tina is currently Agency Principal as intended by our late Agency Principal, Tony Yates.
When she is not tending to clients, you can find her enjoying the great outdoors either camping, fishing, tending to her garden or riding/showing her Country Speed Racking Horse. Her other passion is music, from classic country to bluegrass.

Cathy Smith
Cathy began her career with Greene County Insurance after moving from Florida in May 2012. Cathy holds an active license in Property & Casualty lines as well as Life. She has over 20 years experience in management and customer service.
When she is not tending to clients, you can find her enjoying making memories with her 6 children and soon to be 1st Granddaughter. She also has a creative side in working with resin, from making cups, t-shirts, keychains and more.

Katie Davison
Katie began her career with Greene County Insurance in 2017 as a Customer Service Representative. She obtained her Property & Casualty License in 2018, specializing in Home, Auto, Dwelling Fire and Recreational Vehicle. She is also known to be the agency’s billing queen. She has over 20 years of customer service experience.
When she is not tending to clients, you can find her spending time with her children, starting a DIY project, or making memories with family and friends. She also likes experiencing new places to visit here in Ohio in her free time.

Hayley Walker
Hayley began her career with Greene County Insurance in 2022 as a Customer Service Representative. She obtained her Property & Casualty License in 2023, specializing in Home, Auto, Dwelling Fire and Recreational Vehicle. She has over 17 years of customer service experience.
When she is not tending to clients, you can find her spending time with her daughter and her family. Hayley enjoys the outdoors, making custom jewelry and painting.
